Baška Voda



The municipality of Baška Voda consists of the towns: Bast, Baška Voda, Baško Polje, Bratuš, Krvavica and Promajna. The history of Baška Voda had two major periods: first, during the rule of Illyrians and Romans from the 1st to 6th centuries, AD, followed by the second period during the rule of the Croatian Dukes until 1684. At the ruins of Gradine there are well-preserved remains of the Roman settlement. 
Also located nearby are the churches of St. Lovre (1750) and St. Nikola (1889), which are nice examples of Dalmatian rural architecture, as well as an ethnographic and shell museum. 
The town experienced a great deal of expansion since the 18th century with the development of fishing and trade. Besides beautiful beaches here you can find accommodation and services of the highest quality. There is something for everyone. Comfortable hotels and many private villas' make Baška Voda ideal for family vacation.
